PASKO SA PLAZA

Pasko Sa Plaza

"Ang Pasko Sa Plaza" is a competition among barangays and public schools in the city that is slowly gaining prominence among visitors and tourists coming to Bayawan City. It has slowly earned Bayawan City as a "Christmas City" in Negros Oriental because of its exotic Christmas display and presentation. "Ang Pasko Sa Bayawan" is a display of traditional Christmas symbols like the Christmas Star or "Parol", the Christmas Tree and the "Belen" or nativity scene fashioned out of indigenous or discarded materials. The Bayawanons' creativity and ingenuity are put to the fore in this competition. Strategically located around the city plaza, the indigenous Christmas displays never fail to attract local residents, visitors and tourists alike as they viewed the Christmas displays in awe and appreciation.
