Loyalty vs. Unfaithfulness

Discussed by City Legal Office, August 11. 2003

Using difficult times to demonstrate my commitment to those I serve

Rewards of Loyalty

Bonding

Departments who stick together in hard times experience a deep bonding that makes their relationships stronger than were before the crisis.

Trust

Being committed to the Office through crises, financial struggles, and personality conflicts builds trust among office members that is not easily broken.

Loyalty in our office includes:

*Surprising each other with fun outings even during difficult times

*Dept.  Heads staying involved in their employees activities even in crisis

*Employees being willing to give up things that their department budget cannot afford to purchase rather than make then feel inadequate

*Avoiding influences that draw department members’ interest away from one another

The Goose

When two male geese show interest in the same female goose, the two will engaged in the contest of strength.  The watching female does not always accept the winner, but whichever one she does accept becomes her mate for life.  A goose couple is loyal, literally in “sickness or in health… till death do them part.”
